Matrix Writer VS Blogo

Will be an inexhaustible conversation when it comes to writing blogs and which app options to use. This time We will be discussing two of my flagship apps, Matrix Writer, and Blogo. Actually, I wanted to include Blogilo in this article. But unfortunately, Blogilo sent an email informing me that Blogilo has become a dormant project.

I will not go too deep into this article, just like my other articles which only talked about the surface and from an end-user perspective. But you can read deeper about both in the previous articles I wrote.

Writing and Posting

 

Matrix Writer allows me to post into many domains at once. For example, I can write a single note in Matrix Writer app and then choose where I want my writing to post to with a single click seamlessly. Matrix Writer supports both leading blogging host, WordPress, and Blogger.

 

On the other hand, Blogo works differently by not allowing me to post into more than one blogging host at once.

 

So, in this matter, it’s a +1 for Matrix Writer

 

Supported Blog Hosts

We can choose both Blogger and WordPress on Matrix Writer, there are also options of Matrix Blog and Other Service, but I can’t find an easy way to use that. Well, at least not as user-friendly as Blogo.

 

Meanwhile, we can choose WordPress, Blogger, and Medium on Blogo easily only by typing our blog address and let Blogo take care of the rest. We can get into what we love to do the most, writing.

History

On Matrix Writer, we can see the history of our articles starting from the first one we wrote on it, while on Blogo we can see longer than that. I’ve tried to set my history to 50 (not a good idea) and then I have 50 posts on every blog I have before the one I’m currently writing. I can then right click on the old article to get the URL and then paste it as a link to my current article.

Looks

I believe this part is very subjective, but I choose Matrix Writer on this one, judging by the workspace alone. I’m not quite fond of its Dashboard (since I found that some buttons are still mysterious). Oh, and I just found that my spelling correction “them to theme”in the setting has been fixed. Amazing!

Matrix Writer Gives Me The Best of All Three Worlds

A Long Intro

If you’ve been with me for a while, you’ll know that my activities are changing operating systems and working on all those operating systems. In addition I have another hobby, writing some blogs.

This makes my activities interfere with my hobby and vice versa. Indeed everything I write in the client app will end up in the destination web. However, it feels awkward if I have to repeatedly adjust myself every time I change the operating system.

So far I have three favorite WordPress clients, namely Blogo for Mac and iOS., Blogilo for Linux, and Blogpad for on iPad. All three are favorites for the same reason, the ability to duplicate my writing from one blog to another. And it makes things much simpler.

Before finding Matrix Writer, I had time to try Leanote. Very cool! Unfortunately, there is no way that I think easy to connect it to my WordPress blog. So, in my opinion, it is a luxury I can not use.

Blogo has its own shortcomings, no text justification option. So I always have to do it on the WordPress web. Because I’m frankly disgusted with the WordPress desktop app. Several times my writing just disappeared. Internet connection problem? Maybe. But a desktop app doesn’t rely on that, dogammit!

Matrix Writer First Look

As you can see, inserting this video was not my first attempt. In fact, it’s my third attempt because I was intrigued to connect my other accounts to Matrix Writer. I even tried to connect my Leanote account.

By the way, how can I get my writing to Matrix Writer blog? If such thing exists. Because I’ve been searching, and I couldn’t find what to fill in the login option on the Home. I better finish writing first, unless I’ll have to rewrite this article again.

What Else Can We Find In Matrix Writer?

Features:

1. One Drive and Google Drive integration.
2. Maps.
3.  <— emoticons!
4. HTML and XML.
5. There is also superscript and subscript.

However, I found some bugs in Matrix Writer and I hope the developer will read my feedback. Still, Matrix Writer is a blog writer with tons of useful features I didn’t see on other WordPress clients.

Conclusion

I will stick to my fvourite three for now, and use Matrix Writer only when I’m writing the article I want to post to more than one website at once.

Akhirnya Bisa Nulis Blog Offline… Pakai Apa?

Sebelumnya gw pernah bikin error gara-gara mau bisa nulis blog offline akibat gagal mudeng soal instalasi WordPress 5 menit. Niatnya sih mau betulin tombol aplikasi Online Account di elementaryOS yang bentuknya peyang penjol gak keruan dan ngubek-ngubek di AppCenter tanpa hasil. Kali ini, gw malah hoki banget secara gw secara gak sengaja nemu aplikasi Blogilo. Entah apanya wong gilo, yang jelas kemarin-kemarin aplikasi yang satu ini berhasil lolos dari pengamatan gw. 

Aplikasi ini ngingetin gw sama Blogo lantaran namanya yang mirip. Habis install pun gak langsung gw cobain karena gw pikir ya cuma sekedar alat tulis blog untuk pemakai Linux. Malah sempet nonton film putri duyung Korea segala. Mau tahu judulnya? Nanti gw upload ya…

Tampilannya

Ternyata setelah dibuka, gw baru tahu kalau Blogilo ini cukup menjanjikan. 

Ada tiga kolom tampilan: 

• Visual Editor
• HTML Editor
• Post Preview

Lengkap ya? Dan yang jelas WYSWYG kalau pake ini (biasa kalee).

Ada satu keanehan, saat mau bikin unordered list… kok cuma bisa dari kanan ke kiri ya? Tar gw ulik lagi. Sekarang gw mau jajal upload dulu (daripada udah nulis panjang tapi hasilnya nihil).
